July 31st heralds the sixth instalment of the RIZE Mixed Martial Arts series, the largest MMA event in Queensland, and one of the top promotions in Australia. Well over 2000 spectators are expected to pack out the Sleeman Sports Complex for a phenomenal night of action.  No other promotion in the country attracts as big an audience as RIZE!

RIZE 6 is headlined by the RIZE Welterweight title fight between Ian “The Hitman” Bone and Tony “The Jedi” Rossini.  Both fighters have been very active of late, with Rossini having an impressive first round armbar win over Li Peng Zhang at the Legend Fighting Championships in Hong Kong, and Bone coming fresh from Martial Combat 3 in Singapore.

Rossini enters the bout with slick submission skills that have given him five of his six wins.  He is also a Queensland grappling champion, and one of Australia’s brightest prospects at welterweight.  However, Bone is no slouch in the grappling department himself; 80% of his wins come via submission, including his stunning rear-naked choke victory over Manuel Rodriguez in their #1 Contenders match at RIZE 4. 

As one of Australia’s best loved welterweights, you can guarantee that Bone is going to look for a first round TKO or submission, but can he overcome Rossini’s grappling talents?  When the dust settles, we’ll see which fighter can catapult themselves to the pinnacle of the RIZE Welterweight division.

To precede the Rossini-Bone showdown is an exciting title fight in the Middleweight division between Lenny Kent from the Gold Coast and Cameron Murcutt from Perth. RIZE 6 will also feature an absolutely stacked undercard with some of Australia and New Zealand’s best talent, including two female fights.
